About Me

“I always have a quotation for everything—it saves original thinking.”
Dorothy L. Sayers, Have His Carcase

Hello, I go by Livia here. I'm in my mid-twenties, and I live at home in the South with my parents, four sisters (no, we're not the Bennets . . . we have a brother) and four animals.

I was home-schooled and since then I have spent the time in and out of college.

I love to read. I have lots of reading lists on my blog, my computer, my wall . . . trying to learn to prioritize too.

"A good novel tells us the truth about its hero; but a bad novel tells us the truth about its author."
G. K. Chesterton

I love to knit and between Pinterest and Ravelry and fellow bloggers, I have plenty of inspiration in the online world.

If you haven't yet noticed, I kind of have "Jane of all trades" problem.

I love to learn about fashion and style (this is necessary, 1990's fashion and home-schooler fashion combined for a truly painful style, l.o.l.).

“It is ever so much easier to be good if your clothes are fashionable.”
L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

I love the blog world and Google; I love trying all sorts of tests (word choice, personality, face recognition, etc.) and finding the why and wherefore of so many random things.

I prefer movies to T.V.; I don't care for T.V. much.

Music is not a huge thing for me . . . silence IS. Whispers, "Some silence right now would be marvelous." (Sherlock episode "The Blind Banker.")

“I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

  1. Your bio is so amusingly wonderful! I find it amazing that you are able to live at home still with your large family-- God bless!

  2. I am really enjoying reading your blog - especially the book reviews! Are there any other blogs that you follow where good literature is discussed? I'm always looking for new well-written books to read!

    1. Well, a lot of the blogs I read mention books. I am part of the Classics Club which has lists of books. Period Drama blogs such as Yet Another Period Drama Blog and Old-Fashioned Charm mention lots of Period Dramas which are based on literature. I usually have already heard of the classics. I have found some new books to try on Sew Technicolor and Dirt and Dickens (she has moved her blog but I think the archives are open) and Rachel Heffington's blogs. Sorry, I am too lazy to link, but you can look on my profile; I have my blog list shown. (that is how I have found blogs originally). I only follow a few books sites, and I don't usually get books from those.

  3. I just love this blog. I am SUCH A BOOK NERD!!!!!! And also a bit of a fashion geek as well.
I can knit, but then with knitting comes pearling and I CANT!! I JUST CANT!! So glad I found your blog.
    God bless.

  4. I am homeschooled and currently attending our local community college and am IN LOVE WITH BOOKS TOO XD thanks for the follow/comment on my blog!!!!! <3

    1. You're welcome. I think community college is the way to go both in terms of getting used to college . . . and not immediately going bankrupt.

  5. Hello! I am a homeschooler, who also prefers movies to T.V., but that could have something to do with me living in the country with hardly any service! :)
